Eric L. Mercado, C.M., ACE

Managing Director

Eric founded Aviation Career Services (ACS) with a vision of offering a fresh recruiting and career development service to the airport industry.  He saw the need of a service for the industry that is performed by those with direct experience in it.  He provides ACS with experience in the airport industry managing airports and their operations and maintenance departments as a supervisor and/or manager for airports throughout the United States. His airport management experience ranges general aviation and Part 139 commercial service airports.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) in Aviation Management with minors in Airport Management & Planning and Spanish; where he also earned his Private Pilot Certificate through the SIUC Part 141 Aviation Flight Program. Eric is a Certified Member (C.M.) through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and has distinguished himself through completion of AAAE’s Airport Certified Employee (ACE) program in both Operations and Security. Eric has also completed several emergency management and incident response trainings including Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training Levels 100 – 400, 700, & 800 through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Eric’s experience in the airport industry, his managerial skills, his academic achievements, and his modern vision of human capital development and leadership provides ACS the direction and approach to meet our clients’ personnel needs in today’s airport environment.

 

Delia A. Rodriguez, M.Ed.

Leadership & Education Associate

Delia has worked in all aspects of education for the last decade.  Throughout her career she has lead efforts in diverse education programs including bilingual and standard education, special education, and coaching. Her leadership roles have spanned educator, dean, and director for bilingual education for the third largest education system in Illinois. Delia has created pathways to growth and success for adults, children, community groups, and public officials in the development of leaders and communities alike.

Her experience has included management and administration, the analysis of learning styles and leadership abilities, the establishment of networking forums, and the development of specialized curriculum and trainings to suit diverse learners’ needs. In 2003, Delia was one of 3 Illinois educators invited to Washington DC by the Secretary of Education as reward for her leadership efforts in education. Throughout her career she has championed for leadership development and growth for those in various industries and has fostered their progression through training, education, and workshops.

Delia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Benedictine University and is also fluent in Spanish. Her dynamic presentation abilities, her skill at evaluating individuals and groups, and her ability to harness strengths makes her a tremendous asset to Aviation Career Services and its clients.
